Liberti launches an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for their <1% jewelry collection with a goal to raise awareness for refugees and kickstart a social impact business model
Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 15, 2016
Liberti, a Colorado-based lifestyle brand dedicated to making social impact, launched its high-end, handcrafted jewelry product line, the <1% (less than) collection on crowdfunding site Indiegogo. The campaign aims to kickstart the mission-inspired social enterprise and the company’s apprenticeship program to employ and empower U.S. resettled refugees.
The <1% collection represents the less than one percent of refugees worldwide who are granted the ability to resettle in a new country. There are 14.4 million (and counting) refugees of concern around the world, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency.
“With the launch of Liberti, we wanted to lead with a collection that embodies timeless beauty and elegance with a unique and creative design, but we also wanted each piece to have a subtle yet resounding backstory,” said Liberti founder, Pamela Norton-Shelpuk. “That’s the thinking behind the <1% collection and the chic, simple, modern pieces with dynamic <1 symbols woven in.”
Through their Indiegogo campaign, supporters have the opportunity to pre-order Liberti jewelry from the limited edition <1% collection at a discounted price or make a direct donation to the company.
“We hope to spread awareness for the less than 1% of refugees who are fortunate enough to make it out of refugee camps and rebuild their lives while also inspiring hope for the 99% who remain behind,” added Norton-Shelpuk.
Funds raised will support their apprenticeship program designed to onboard refugee employees as well as continued creation and production of jewelry collections.
With all aspects of the business including manufacturing, business operations and product sourcing based in the U.S., Liberti’s apprenticeship program aims to integrate refugee employees in all departments based on current skills, strengths and interests while providing on-the-job training and career building opportunities.
“Our reach of social impact with Liberti is really two-fold. We’re not only creating a business to empower refugees and their families by giving them the tools to build a successful and fulfilling career, but we also have the opportunity to empower our customers by connecting them to the impactful stories of refugees that are too often unheard from this vulnerable community,” says Norton-Shelpuk. “By uplifting refugees and spreading awareness to empower our conscious customers, we hope to spark positive social change nationwide.”
